For the forseeable future

TheLaughingMan 30/12/2011
At the moment I'm kinda playing catch up with my reviews. These two were my first reviews on a friends site a few months ago, and have had done a few others since but because of the other sites demise I chose not to post them, so now I'm just redoing them in a more personal style then the last ones which were left a little more generic and toned down from my natural style, after all thats the editors job isnt it.

So for the next few weeks I'm just gonna be posting reviews of stuff from the the Winter 2010-2011 to Summer 2011 anime seasons. Once I've caught up with those, I'll start on my reviews of last seasons anime. Hopefully by then I can do some mid season reviews for the current season too and start on some episodic ones too.

I thought what I'd do was I'd pretend I was one of those deaf mutes.

TheLaughingMan ,
Ever since I finished University I have been struggling to find a way to focus my mind in a creative way. I'm not the sort to talk about myself or my life so a personal blog or twitter were dud starts, but at the same time, I never thought of myself as a skilled creative writer either. Sure I've done forum based RPG's in the past but I never had the level of output of other users and had frequent bouts of writers block, so some sort of fiction or creative writing blog was out of the question either.

It seemed the only thing I had any sort of a skill for outside of my course was my opinion. So what better way to throw my opinion out there than writing reviews. The question is, what should I review, after all, everyone has loads of interests, and you have opinions on every aspect of them. I play Yuigoh, Magic: The Gathering, I like surfing the net, I watch sitcoms, anime, movies, I read books and manga, I play video games. I needed to find some sort of focus for this use of my creativity.

The more I thought about it, the more I realised that an unbiased review of something like Yugioh or Magic: The Gathering, would be pointless, most of the people who read reviews for that stuff only care about one thing 'Is it competitive?' I dont see the cards in that light I just look at it and see its good and bad points. I could review movies, but in that case its all about 'What's new' sort of getting a job as a movie critic I'm not gonna be able to review movies on a regular basis. In the end it seemed that Anime was the only reasonable choice.

So without any further ado. I present to you my blog.

Stand Alone Complex, an Otaku's review to life the universe and everything.
